During the examination the doctor tries to identify the lobes and groove of the prostate gland. A normal sized prostate gland would be around 2-4cm long and triangular in shape. They would also expect the prostate to feel firm and rubbery. There is nothing to be terrified about the prostate examination as the procedure is simple and would facilitate identifying a disorder at an early stage, in order to be treated effectively.
